Bacon - Oedipus and the Sphinx after Ingres (11/13)

Francis Bacon reprend la composition générale du tableau d'Ingres, aboutissant à une sorte de
dead end métaphysique, et focalise l'attention sur le Sphinx qui fixe le spectateur de son œil interrogateur, tandis qu'Oedipe est laissé à sa condition trop humaine d'homme de chair.
